RELEASE
Diego Rezende started his acting career in Curitiba, specializing in acting for TV and Cinema at the Hollywood Film Academy in 2015. After two years of the course, he decided to deepen his knowledge seeking new artistic aspects, joining the Broadway Project, where he stayed until 2018 studying and doing Musical Theater. He participated in several courses and workshops with great professionals such as: Bruce Ducat, Fátima Toledo, Tristan Aronovich, Marcos Reis, Erika Slama, Márcio Trigo, among others. In cinema, he participated in several short films, including: “O Som do Coração” (2017), directed by Nyck Maftum; “Esperando Magrão” (2018), directed by Fernando Costa; “What do your eyes see?” (2018), directed by Íris Carvalho, taking the award for best actor at the HFA Awards; “Unknown Encounters” (2018), directed by Emilie Winter; “O Homem Sem Fim”(2017), directed by Rodrigo Almeida, nominated for best actor at Festcine Pinhais; In addition, he also starred in an independent feature film “Algo Que Não Senti” (2017), directed by Pedro Ribeiro, who, in addition to Brazil, went through some festivals around the world, including countries like Italy, USA, India and England. At the theater Diego performed some musical plays, with the main work being the show “Te Ligo Segunda” (2018), nominated for the Brasil Musical award. In 2017 and 2018, he was selected to participate in Broadway Brasil, a project sponsored by Caixa Cultural in partnership with the Broadway Dreams Foundation, where he organized shows with Broadway professionals. In addition to acting, he is also a director, screenwriter and editor. In Curitiba, he worked for some years on audiovisual projects with video producers. In 2019, he directed his first professional film “Narratal de Faz de Contos”, recently passing by 22 festivals around the world and winning 9 awards, including the one for “Best First-Time Director” in the Czech Republic. His most recent work was the short film “O Espelho” (2020), directed by Victoria de Sottomaior, still awaiting release.
